– Funding to improve facilities at Made in PA: Montgomery Capital Renovation and Expansion was awarded today, according to state Rep. Jeff Wheeland (R-Lycoming). The grant for this project has been issued by the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).
“I am proud to have advocated for support of this project in Montgomery Borough. The improvements to this facility will better our communities by facilitating the growth of Made in PA and creating more jobs. I am excited to see this project take shape,” said Wheeland.
The Made in PA: Montgomery Capital Renovation and Expansion project will entail the improvement of three aging properties to maximize space and make upgrades within the facility. The more than $150,000 will also be used to upgrade equipment and machinery. Activities at the site will include repaving the parking lot, creating new wheel assembly lines, installing a new elevator and HVAC system to stop water leaks, a new woodworking equipment and paint line, new roofing, enclosing an elevator shaft, repairing a loading dock, installing insulation, and new lighting.
RACP is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget. This program is for the acquisition and construction of economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. These are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of the Capital Budget Itemization Act to generate employment, tax revenue and other economic activity.
