Everett, Wheeland Cancel Gun Law Seminar Due to Coronavirus
WILLIAMSPORT – Reps. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming/Union) and Jeff Wheeland (R-Lycoming) have canceled their Gun Law Seminar until further notice due to public health concerns and guidelines concerning the coronavirus, also referred to as COVID-19. The event was scheduled for Thursday, March 26 at the Clinton Township Fire Hall.

“Due to the public health guidelines regarding the coronavirus, we think it best to limit all social events for the time being,” said Everett. “We look forward to hosting this event hopefully sometime later this season and will continue to keep constituents updated on any new developments.”

“We all need to work together to limit the spread of this virus and that has to be done primarily by practicing social distancing, which is why we felt it best to cancel this event that is usually very well-attended,” said Wheeland. “In the meantime, residents should not live in fear or panic, but remain aware of public health guidelines and check in on your friends and family as we navigate this crisis together.”

Pennsylvanians can check the Pennsylvania Department of Health website, health.pa.gov, for updates on COVID-19 in Pennsylvania and important government announcements. Everett and Wheeland also send weekly emails to constituents who have signed up on their websites. These emails will also provide residents with important legislative updates and other government announcements regarding COVID-19, as well as updates regarding events hosted by their district offices.
